Dan joined First Quartile in 2008 and specialises in investment marketing consultancy and investment communication.
He is a highly talented writer and marketer with a deep knowledge of financial markets and the asset management industry, having held both senior marketing and investment positions during his 11 years at Gartmore Investment Management. He is able to communicate effectively to audiences of all levels of technical sophistication across a variety of media.
Dan started his career on the options floor of LIFFE before becoming a staff writer at Risk Magazine. In 1997, he joined Gartmore as an investment writer focusing on the institutional market. Dan was soon promoted to Head of Investment Communications and was responsible for the key investment messages delivered around the business, to the media and across all sales channels. He held this position for five years. In 2006, Dan became a fund manager within Gartmore's UK equity large cap team where he managed a number of institutional long-only mandates, as well as being responsible for options strategies for Gartmore's UK equity hedge funds. Dan studied English Language and Literature at Loughborough University and holds the IMC.
