John Hatherly Investment Specialist – Macro
John joined First Quartile in 2007 and specialises in investment writing and investment consultancy.
He worked in the City for over 35 years, where he began his career at Kleinwort Benson. Working as an analyst and strategist for a number of stockbroking and investment management firms, John has seen a succession of bull and bear markets during his longstanding career. He was appointed as Head of Research at Lloyds Private Banking, a position he held for five years before he joined M&G in 1996 as Head of Research and then Head of Global Analysis until 2005. John has an MA in History from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Literature from the Open University.
