Our History
First Quartile was founded by Nick Dyer to provide the City with a specialist marketing and communications resource.
Having spent over ten years in the City managing money for both private and institutional clients, Nick made a career change in 1997 to become the Director of Marketing and Investment Communications at Prudential Portfolio Managers. In this role, Nick became disillusioned by what traditional marketing agencies could deliver to City institutions.
He felt that most agencies were continually hampered by their lack of understanding of what is appropriate for City companies, and lacked sufficient knowledge of the complex products, markets and institutions they were trying to help market.
Many of his colleagues across the industry shared these frustrations and in 2000, Nick established First Quartile to provide the City with a specialist marketing and communications resource which had hitherto been lacking.
First Quartile offers services that have been designed specifically for City institutions, and provides sensible and informed marketing and communications solutions by people who have a deep understanding of the subject. These include ex fund mangers, pension fund advisers, investment writers and reporting specialists, who combine their knowledge and experience with the expertise of financial marketers and creative designers.
Today, First Quartile has grown to become a leading provider of marketing and communications services to companies in the financial sector, primarily asset managers and property companies.
